Islands are normally associated with unrestricted freedom. If inhabited, islands represent a lazy lifestyle far removed from society’s rules and regulations. Robben Island though, has a history of deep sorrow, drenched in the coldness that the human heart can bestow on others dissimilar to their own kind.
The story of Robben Island started in 1652 when Jan van Riebeeck landed in Cape Town on orders from the Dutch East Indian Company to establish a post where boats could harbour on way to the East. He almost immediately started to use the Island - which is only a few kilometers from the mainland - as a place where troublemakers could be kept away from the growing community.

This may come as a surprise to those that still think of Sheffield as an industrial city but it’s officially the greenest city in Europe having won the Entente Florale competition, the international horticultural competition which has been running for more than 25 years. Sheffield is home to over two million trees - more trees per person than any other city in Europe - as well as over 170 woodlands, 78 public parks and 10 public gardens. In total, 61 per cent of Sheffield consists of green space.

If you are into outdoor activities, such as hunting, maybe taking a nature walk, or just going to catch a ball game, then you already the know the importance of a good set of binoculars.
A good set allows you to see things a far distance away with a sharp clear picture and with little focus adjustments as possible. A bad pair has you throwing them into the garbage.

Cruises may still be associated with older travelers, but the times when older travelers are the only ones enjoying a cruise vacation are long passed. A cruise is an extremely attractive option for anyone seeking to escape from the demands of work and everyday life. Fortunately, cruise lines now offer a variety of programs allowing them to meet the holiday needs of any traveler’s lifestyle and preferences. Cruising is no longer about simply showing off your new wardrobe, playing shuffleboard or socializing in the lounge. These may all be great parts of a cruise vacation, but there is a wide range of activities and amenities perfect for every traveler.

We scheduled a repositioning cruise on the Vision of the Seas from Los Angeles to Vancouver, BC and I had checked the website and found that NCL was offering a one-night Dinner & Dance cruise from Vancouver, BC to Seattle, WA for an unbelievable rate in a Balcony Cabin. Score!
This trip proved to be an adventure for a one-nighter. I am going to try and keep a light tone to this review but it was nasty, as several thousand cruisers can attest to.

Have you ever noticed how some of your friends seem to get away on a lot of holidays each year? Maybe they’re just lucky, or maybe they know the secrets to finding cheap airline tickets.
Before internet usage became so common, the trick to finding the best deals on flights often involved waiting until the very last moment and then phoning a specialist flight broker.
Such brokers were often able to offer extremely competitive last minute deals, allowing you access to cheap prices. They were able to get their hands on cheap tickets because some airlines would find themselves with excess capacity and would look to brokers to fill seats.
